President's Corner: A Community with a Big Heart

Dear members,

To kick off 2019, I would like to wish all of our members a great year, full of success on both the personal and professional fronts. I would also like to offer a warm welcome and thanks to our new members who passed CATA's certification exam last November. I hope that a long and fruitful career in athletic therapy awaits you all.

I would also like to take this opportunity to invite our young members whose careers are just getting underway to take advantage of the camaraderie that exists within our professional community and to utilize the expertise of more experienced members. Our profession has always been fortified by the invaluable and essential wealth of knowledge that has accompanied this direct transmission of our “professional legacy”. In addition to your devoted professors, your internships and professional networks have surely allowed you to meet several experienced therapists over the years. Please reach out and contact these therapists if you have any questions regarding their career or experiences. They can inspire you and help guide you on your professional paths, which despite the ups and downs, will surely be very satisfying.

I would also like to thank all of our experienced members for generously sharing their stories, advice, knowledge and love for our profession. This generosity has laid a solid foundation for the future of athletic therapy.
