Hall of Fame Induction – Jaime Sochasky

On June 6, during our CTSQ annual gathering, we had the pleasure of celebrating Jaime Sochasky’s induction into the Hall of Fame.

She is a member of the CTSQ since 1998, Jaime has held several roles over the years, including director, president, and member of the board of directors. She has also served as an internship supervisor to many students and mentors in the CATA mentoring program for over 10 years.

Jaime is also a co-founder of Reconditioning HQ, was a co-owner of Premier Performance, and is a co-founder of High-Performance Consultants.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Jaime and all of her accomplishments, and to congratulate her on her well-deserved induction into the Hall of Fame.

Status change for graduates

The CTSQ would like to congratulate all students who passed the certification exam. To formalize your new status, please be sure to send us all the required documents. You have until August 31, 2026, to complete your status change with the CTSQ. All relevant information was sent via email on July 18. We also remind all student members that you cannot retain your “student” membership status after receiving your degree, so be sure to update your status in a timely manner.

A renewal that affects you: Share your thoughts

We would like to remind all our members that the group insurance plan contract will be renewed on September 1st. To that end, a survey regarding the terms of the renewal has been sent to you. In it, you will find three options proposed by our broker.

Please note that an increase in medication use has been observed over the past year. Changes to premiums are therefore to be expected.

In order to continue offering the group insurance program to its members, the CTSQ must achieve a response rate of at least 70% from its members. We therefore encourage you to participate in large numbers.

Return on RaTS 2026 and announcement for 2027

On June 6, our CTSQ annual gathering was held in Trois-Rivières. During the event, many therapists had the opportunity to network with their peers, meet and celebrate the new graduates, and celebrate the induction of the prestigious Jaime Sochasky into the Hall of Fame. In response to the positive feedback from many of our members, we are excited to announce that the 2027 annual gathering will take place in early May 2027 in Montreal.

The members of the Board of Directors wish you a wonderful summer of 2026! They would like to take this opportunity to welcome Eric Grenier-Denis as treasurer and remind you that the Board meets eight times a year to discuss various issues related to sports therapy in Quebec, as well as matters concerning CTSQ members. Please feel free to email us at direction@ctsq.qc.ca to bring any matters requiring the Board of Directors’ attention to our attention. We will be happy to add them to the agenda for the next meeting.

The members of the Board of Directors would like to acknowledge Amy Barrette’s significant contribution to the Board and thank her for her commitment to the CTSQ’s many projects, as well as for her dedication to promoting the profession of athletic therapist in Quebec.

Media Coverage

Bringin awareness to athletic therapy in Quebec is an important mission for our media relations officer, Roland Maillot. To achieve this, he relies on the collaboration of all CTSQ members. If you, or any other CTSQ member, are involved in major projects that help promote the profession, we encourage you to contact Roland to explore potential media coverage opportunities.

President’s corner

Dear Members,

I hope you are making the most of the summer season—whether that means recharging your batteries, spending time with loved ones, or supporting the many athletes and patients who remain active throughout the summer.

As usual, I’d like to start by giving you a brief update on the work related to the integration of our profession. Discussions and efforts are continuing throughout the summer with the various partners involved. Although this is traditionally a quieter period, several initiatives are continuing to move forward behind the scenes. We hope to be able to provide you with a more comprehensive update in early September to inform you of developments and next steps.

Summer is also a time when sports therapists demonstrate the full extent of their expertise—whether on the field, at sporting events, in clinical settings, in teaching, in research, or through their community initiatives. Behind each of these achievements lie inspiring stories that deserve to be highlighted.

That’s why we invite you to share your successes with us! Have you participated in a notable event? Launched a new project? Received an award? Contributed to an initiative you’re proud of? We’d love to hear about your accomplishments.

Over the coming months, the CTSQ hopes to highlight its members by sharing some of your achievements, showcasing the journeys, projects, and successes that illustrate the dynamism and expertise of our professional community.

Your commitment helps promote sports therapy in Quebec every day, and we look forward to highlighting what you’re passionate about.
